Some pretty self- explanatory nail designs. I found a red, green and silver multi-hex glitter that I used a lot this season. I have had a very busy few weeks and haven't got too many designs done. I'll keep doing as many as I possibly can. Work is very hard on my nails and sometimes I don't have any nails left to paint.
I did get over 20 new colors for a Christmas gift (thanks Cyn),they are mostly OPI brand which is quite awesome because I don't have many of those. I don't usually spend a lot of money on my polishes. I have a few pricier ones($5 or more) but I won't pay much more than $5 per bottle.

November Pet Nails...
Sorry for the late post- the holidays get the best of me, I run out of time. Here are my few designs for Pet Cancer awareness month. I hope you like them : )

Hailey's (aka Bop) nail designs. She is our soon-to-be, 11 year old Shih Tzu. She is a rather prissy girl when she wants to be, hence the pink and plaid. |

This design is for my Pug, Hannah "Nan". She is a sweet girl, who is pretty much my shadow. A few years ago, Nan had a mass for on her side. We had it tested and luckily it was benign, however it had to be removed. She is doing just fine now. |

A simple design for the cats-- we do have 3 but I liked these two so much- I figured to just leave it at that. |

November Nails
Hi guys,
This is just a quick post about what to look for this month....
I usually don't do posts like this, but it's for a good cause. November is "Pet Cancer Awareness Month," most of my manicures will have to do with my pets. This is important to me because, about 2 years ago our Pug had a large lump quickly appear on her side. The main concern was that it was cancerous. Luckily, it was not but we had it removed anyhow. I know of many dogs and their families, that have been affected by cancer and it is a sad and heartbreaking thing to go through.
For many of us our pets are like our children and we need to take care of them as such.
Thanks for listening! :)

Halloween Nail Art Challenge Pix
Hi there~ My favorite month is about to end (which means that today is my 4th wedding anniversary...lol). Tomorrow is Halloween, so it is time to put away the creepy stuff... but before that I want to share what I came up with this year.
These aren't in any order, just however I picked them. I will probably put them up in 2 posts because there are quite a few pictures. :)

Random Tips and Tricks...
I figured since I have been at this nail polish thing for quite a while that I would share some tips, tricks and secrets I have learned along the way.
These are going to be very random and an ongoing list:
1. When applying a lighter color of polish over a dark one ( ie: stamping or crackle) and you do not want the bleed through, put a clear coat on before applying the lighter color.
For example: pink nail bed with a white or silver image. The lighter color will pick up the darker, and ruin your art
2. Before using a large stamp or water marble manicure, cover your skin with scotch tape, white glue or petroleum jelly. This will create a barrier between your skin and polish. When you are done, just remove it and you will have less clean up time.
3. Always use a base coat! It lessens your chances of staining your nails.
4. If you do stain your nails because of a dark polish, I have found that after removing the polish with acetone I will put white nail polish over my bare nails and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Then I take it off, usually the stains disappear or at least lighten.
In the event that the stains do not come out a soak in a paste made from peroxide and baking soda or vinegar and lemon juice usually does the trick.
5. MOISTURIZE often. (I have said it before and I'll say it again.)
Moisturizing prevents cracking which can lead to infection. Dry hands aren't pretty and are often uncomfortable. Be sure to use a good lotion though, one with glycerin, shea butter or lanolin is a good bet.

Start of FALL designs......
Just a few designs to start off the "holiday" season. If you know me, then you will know that my holiday season starts with Halloween. I LOVE Halloween. The air is crisp and chilly, the leaves are beautiful colors, and I get to decorate with spooky stuff and glitter. Glitter makes everything better! Plus I get to experiment with slightly more outrageous, bold and funky nail art.... stay tuned for some Halloween fun!!

I'm still here.....
OK, well it has been a bit since I have last posted. I have had a few issues with learning this interface. I tried setting up an entry to post while I was on vacation and then again a week or so ago, as you can see that didn't happen. My posts are floating around the web somewhere. The pictures I saved to my tablet are lost because my tablet pretty much crashed on me.
So this is a wrap up of the summer challenge. : /
This is # 8 In the garden and #9 Thirst Quencher ( including kind of #10 Favorite Fruit). I guess 10 out of 14 isn't all the bad.

Lemonade on a hot day- what can be better? Some lemon slices and ice cubes were in order! |
I would also like to add that this blog has been running (or at least chugging along) since September 14, 2012. I am having fun sharing my designs and the information that I have learned over the years. I hope you enjoy stopping by to see what I do. I am going to re-think how I have been posting entries. I have been extremely busy the past few weeks. I enjoyed every day off of work this summer and tried to squeeze out every minute I could. I completed a few upgrades around the house and have been immersing myself in all things Korean. Unfortunately, my little blog had to be put on the back burner, bear with me and please continue to check back : )

Not much going on lately......
Here is a few nail designs I have done. I've been busy with lots of things and kind of put the blog aside. : ( I hope this changes soon and I can get back to at least a bi-weekly post. This is only 2 designs, kind of sad I know. I have done more than that but forgot to snap a pic.
Just some Sally Hansen polishes. (purple and orange)- I got these for a steal $1.49 at Ross'. The next is a pink and green simple design ( Rimmel and Kleancolor) a few dots adds some interest.
Lastly is a bit of a review of Sally Hansen's FUZZY COAT. The color I picked up is # 500 Fuzz-Sea. It is similiar to long glitter without all the , well glitter. It makes my nails look fuzzy. It has a slight rough texture which is kind of cool. I did try it on top of a dark pink and that looked neat. It does look nice on darker colors than lighter ones. It took three coats to cover bare nails. : )

Marble Nails....
So easy, quick and you can not mess it up!! First, get your supplies--a base color, a top color, your fav top coat and plastic. Next cut up your plastic- I used one of my many plastic grocery bags. I cut 5 pieces about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide.. Next- apply your base color. LET IT DRY COMPLETELY !!...This is where I used a 60 second drying coat. Once dry, doing one nail at a time, put on a coat of your top color, in this case-teal.You may want to wait about 15 seconds and then put the plastic on top, be careful not to move the plastic too much or you will end up with mushy marks and not the more angular clean areas. Let it be crinkled and crumpled. Remove the plastic in one motion- like removing a band-aid,you can go back and dab at areas that need more top color removed- just be careful not to smear!
It is a neat effect and it helps covers dings, dents and scratches. I would use this mani if I had a color on that I love and had scratched up- this way I wouldn't have to do a complete mani again! I think the whole thing took me less than 15 minutes start to finish because I already had a base color that was damaged. I also use a fast drying top coat called "out the door"... maybe next time I do this effect I will use two top colors and see what happens!

My supplies!! |

I used a neutral color because I wanted the design to show up in pictures. I don't think I'd wear these colors together often. |

One nail at a time, add color...... |

BEFORE going to next nail, apply plastic count to 15 and remove. |

TA-DA!... Marble! |

Continue on and apply clear top coat to protect and extend your polish!! |
