January Nail designs.....

Hello.... Here are some manicures I have done so far this month. The first one is "Sally Hansen Lustre Shine, Lava," I actually passed on buying this polish at first because of the price. I love this polish, but at $7, I wasn't forking that over. So I waited and waited until I got a coupon at CVS for $5 off.. WOO-HOO! Lava for $2! I love how the colors shift from orange to pink and the shimmer is amazing!

This was one of the hardest manis. to get a decent pic of.

I'm on an "owl kick" right now- I thought he fit the bill. I hand painted him using just the polish brush to define his features- no special tricks for this guy!

This is what I did for my birthday... the base is Wet and Wild pink, with 2 coats of Revlon's "Girly" and a hand painted cupcake!

This was another toughie to get a pic of to show off the color-- it should really be a light blue  "Revlon-Dreamer" with a top coat of "Pure Ice -In the mood"and the stamped stars are deep purple"Jane- Regal"

Revlon Moon Candy Review

Hi there, I recently got back from L.V.I airport, on the way home we stopped at Ulta Beauty, and look at what I found. I'm in love with this nail polish duo by Revlon called "Moon Candy". The pair I chose is #220 "Moon Dust." The "kit," includes two different polishes, a dark creme and a glitter top coat. The effect is actually pretty cool. First, apply a base coat let that dry, then the darker polish and once dry apply 2 or 3 coats of the "dust". Follow up with a good top coat to protect the glitter flakes. Due to the size of the flakes, the polish may be a bit bumpy- an extra coat or two of top coat solved that. The "dust" gives a 3D effect. The glitter flakes show more colors in different lighting, greens/blues in incandescent lighting, purples/blues in fluorescent lighting. I like the unique look of this duo. There are many other pairs to choose from, I liked the "Moon Dust," set the best because it looks like stardust. The flakies seem to glow, the pictures don't even come close to showing off this polish.

 * I have worn this mani through 2 days of work so far with very little wear, I do have a top coat of Claire's Gelato, so that may help.*

Kind of an awkward bottle to use, I held it because I was afraid of it tipping over and spilling.

After a base coat- dark creme polish......

Once dried, 2 coats of glitter flakes...... I used the polish brush to "dab" flakes to areas not quite covered.

Top coat-- you can see lots of green flakies here. They pick up the light nicely : )

Last of the Christmas Challenge.

These are the last entries of the Christmas Challenge. I did not take a picture of my sweater mani- I didn't like it all that much : )

New Year's eve nails!..... Gunmetal with an accent nail in glitter heavy gold, with some simple black stripes and '13.... Happy New Year.!

Here are more nails to continue the challenge. I have found that following along with a "list" helps me decide what to create. I have many other ideas, but keeping on a "schedule," seems to take away the guesswork. Enjoy!

Christmas Nail Art Challenge.....

     Hi everyone.....Let's try something new.... I'm going to try to follow a nail art challenge- that is if I can stay focused. Basically, all you do is follow what the challenge is on that day and paint your nails accordingly... (ie: December 1st is red. So you paint your nails any way you'd like but include red in your design) Really simple, right?.... you can either just check my blog when I post a new entry or follow along and send me your nail art.
